Todaiji
Kasuga Taisha is a short walk (around 15 min) from Todaiji Temple. On the way, there's a big field and some villagers tend to feed the deers - if you are lucky you could see how the deers run across field (maybe even in your direction if you are blocking the way!):
Happily eating their lunch...
Kasuga Taisha is Nara's most celebrated shrine. On our way there, we saw traffic jams few hundred metres before the car park! And we saw quite some babies there dressed up in traditional costume too. The main reason that we choose to visit it is because it has got 3000 lanterns!!

and the bronze ones too...
Going to walk to Kofuku ji (the three and five-storey pagoda) next. In Nara, it's all about walking - once you are in Nara Park, most tourist attractions are of walking distance (you can take a bus but it's not worth it, and i don't think they can reach all the places). Umm, and don't think of a subway, it is more kampung than Kyoto =p
