Tagged by Ipohchai few days ago to write on my favourite food. Unfortunately I have no pictures of the food that I am craving for at the moment!
They includes nasi lemak, char kuay teow, roti canai, zhu cheung fan, mee siam, asam laksa, char siew fan, siew yuk fan, bakkut teh.................. I missed all local food!!!! There're Malaysian food in Melbourne, but they are always in big portion and doesn't taste as interesting as the ones back home! Lasi and I always love to talk bout food at night, and we will end up hating each other for mentioning those food names that we can only think of without eating, leaving us feeling hungry until fallen asleep.
Lasi preparing tasty cheese on crackers
Aged Rib Eye
OK. forget bout them for the moment. My favourite food here will be.. umm... I used to like eating thin crackers with smoked salmon and some avocado on top very much but not exactly my favourite. I like blue cheese or any soft white mould cheese like Brie or Cammembert on crackers - they are simply lovely! I love steaks too, particularly Rib Eyes - better if it's aged =p and goes with a glass of vintage Shiraz or Pinot Noir. But these are the food that I can't get myself to eat everyday. The only food that I never get tired of, which I would label as my favourite food, will be a home-made Friand.
From wiki, it's formal name is financier - a type of French cruisine. The reason I like it so much is due to its rich nutty flavour, and the almond meal adds moistness to it, making it superb to be eaten! This is perfect for those who crave for muffins but is allergy to flour, or simply are on low carbohidrate diet. I fell in love with it the moment I tried my very 1st one from Gloria Jeans - and after I got one for mum, she decided to start baking them for me! (it cost aud 3.90 and I prefer one not that sweet)

Friand, Chocolate Cupcake (Flourless - made with almond meal too!) and Avocado bread
It's easy to make and there're plenty of recipe online:

Most importantly, make sure you have almond meals that you should be able to get from supermarkets, and it only uses egg whites (good for people concerned with high cholesterol!) p/s: you can use the egg york to make other delicacies such as cream puff or egg tarts!
If you have sweet tooth and hasn't tried Friand before, you can find it in most coffee house, or make some for yourself - believe me, you will love it as I do =p
